Goddess Mahalakshmi is also known as Maa Lakshmi. She is the wife of Lord Vishnu. In Hindu mythology RIG VEDAS, she is described as one of the most popular Goddess. Significance of Mahalakshmi Puja
According to Hinduism, Maa Lakshmi has 8 forms (रूप), which is famous as Ashta Lakshmi (अष्ठ लक्ष्मी).
Aadi (Primeval), Dhaanya (grains), Vidhya (Knowledge & intelligence), Dhana (money & gold), Santana (progeny or fertility), Gaja (wealth of influence), Dhairya (courage), and Vijaya (victorious) Lakshmi.
As mentioned in Vishnu Puran, Maa Lakshmi emerged from the Samudra Manthan. She chosed Lord Vishnu as her enternal Consort.
Maa Lakshmi is graced with six propitious qualities. She constitutes the substance world on earthly or terrestrial empire as BHUMI
In her statue Maa Lakshmi is shown as elegantly dressed, prosperous, showering Gold coins, woman with an owl as her vehicle, while holding Lotus in two hands. She represents the beauty, glory, destiny, Knowledge and spirituality.
Her four hands represent the Dharama, Karma, Artha and Moksha as a characteristics of Human life.
The five Diwali festive days and Sharad Purnima are best days to worship her.
